$9 Million Upgrade: The Final Piece of the Baldivis Sports Complex Puzzle
A look inside the massive community hub transforming the heart of Baldivis.

The vision for a world-class community hub in Baldivis is finally becoming a reality. This week, the Baldivis Times went behind the fences of the $9 million final stage of the Baldivis Sports Complex (BSC) to see how the project is taking shape, and the results are already stunning.
Expected to be completed by December 2025, this massive expansion is more than just a place for competitive sports; it’s being built as a true community heart. Supported by a $1 million contribution from Lotterywest, the upgrades include eight new netball and multipurpose hard courts, eight floodlit tennis courts, and a brand-new pavilion for players and spectators.

But it’s the community details that stole the show during our visit. The skate park is spotless, featuring a striking mural of Forest Red-tailed Black Cockatoo feathers wrapping around the perimeter, a nod to the local wildlife we fight so hard to protect. While we were on-site, we were even greeted by two of these magnificent birds feeding in the nearby marri trees, a perfect reminder of the balance we need to strike between development and nature.

As Ex-Mayor Deb Hamblin noted, the vision was always to provide a facility that “significantly contributes to the health and well-being of Baldivis.” Walking through the site, it’s clear that the promise is being kept.
