Early-Morning Violence
A suburban Warnbro street became the scene of a terrifying violent break-in overnight, leaving two men in hospital with serious stab wounds after four masked, armed intruders forced their way into a residential home.
Emergency services were called to the Currie Street address at approximately 2:25 am on Monday, August 24. Officers arriving at the scene located two injured men inside the property following a chaotic altercation.
A man in his 40s suffered severe stab wounds to his chest and abdomen. St John paramedics rushed him to Royal Perth Hospital for emergency treatment. A second victim, a man in his 50s, sustained a stab wound to his lower back and was transported to Rockingham General Hospital. Authorities have confirmed both men remain in stable, non-life-threatening conditions.

Linked to Prior Disturbance
WA Police detectives confirmed the offenders fled the home on foot shortly after the assault. Investigators have officially connected the home invasion to a prior disturbance at the exact same Currie Street residence around 11:00 pm on Saturday, August 22, when several individuals attempted to force entry and inflicted significant damage to the property.
Police have reassured residents that the attack was not random, emphasizing that there is no wider threat to the surrounding neighborhood.
"Detectives believe this was a targeted incident and there are no concerns for the safety of the broader community at this time," a WA Police spokesperson stated.
Community Reaction and Police Appeal
The violent incident has drawn widespread concern across the local area. Labor candidate for Secret Harbour, Georgia Tree, issued a public statement offering support to the victims while praising the rapid response of emergency personnel.
"My thoughts are with everyone affected by this morning's incident in Warnbro," Tree said. "I understand that both men are in a stable condition at Royal Perth Hospital and Rockingham General Hospital. My heart goes out to them, and to the community."
"Thank you to WA Police and St John paramedics who responded so quickly. Their work in moments like this is something we should never take for granted. Nobody should feel unsafe on their own street."
